Week 2 Results and Team Records

 

Junior Division

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry - 23 (2-0)

Brown’s Jewelers - 1 (0-2)

 

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry defeated Brown’s Jewelers by a score of 23-1. Jack Duitz led Dentistry with 8 points and Kira Tepler added 4 points. Jacob Berger had the only point for the Jewelers in this loss.

 

Ginzburg Drillers - 16 (2-0)

Jasper’s Pizza - 4 (1-1)

 

The undefeated Ginzburg Drillers handed Jasper’s Pizza its first loss of the season by a score of 16-4. Zachary Klestzick led the Drillers with 10 points and Nicholas Jimenez added 4 points. For  Jasper’s Pizza, Jack Gallagher had 2 points.


Buchbinder & Warren Realty - 10 (1-1)

January’s Jazz - 7 (0-2)

 

Buchbinder & Warren Realty bounced back from an opening week loss to defeat January’s Jazz by a score of 10-7. Henry Mann led Realty with 6 points and Tani lewis added 2 points. For the Jazz, Azi Kram had 2 points in the loss.



Varsity Division

RNL Vending - 31 (1-1)

YBY Computers - 18 (0-2)

 

RNL Vending evened its early-season record at 1-1 by defeating YBY Computers, 31-18. Caleb Siegel led Vending with 14 points and Miriam Helft added 3 points. For Computers, Caleb Marcus had 12 points and Sammy Klestzick had 4 points.

 

Councilman Koppell - 32 (2-0)

Invitations Plus - 25 (1-1)


In a battle between two teams that were both victorious in week one, it was Councilman Koppell’s squad that remained undefeated with a 32-25 win over Invitations Plus. Akiva Hain led all scorers with 20 points in the win and Adin Rothstein chipped in with 3 points. For Invitations Plus, Z.J Saks had 8 points and Ethan Sidelsky added 6 points.


Hertz Dental Starz - 24 (2-0)

Riverdale YM-YWHA - 15 (0-2)


The Hertz Dental Starz upped their record to 2-0 by defeating the Riverdale YM-YWHA’s team, 24-15. Christian Batista led the Stars with 18 points and Sean Patterson added 2 points. For the Riverdale Y, Fabio Perka had 10 points and Jeremy Lopez added 3 points.


 

Pro Division

Riverdale YM-YWHA - 36 (1-1)

Taller Dental Magic - 31 (0-2)

 

The Riverdale YM-YWHA’s pro division team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Taller Dental Magic by a score of 36-31. Dekory Wright led the Y on offense with 10 points and on defense with a clutch blocked shot late in the game, while teammate Justin Ryan added 8 points in the victory. For the Magic, Joshua Lieman had a game-high 18 points and Jonathan Cappell added 4 points.

 

RiverKingSports.com - 31 (2-0)

Advanced Dental Care - 19 (1-1)

 

RiverKingSports.com improved its record to 2-0 with a 31-19 victory over Advanced Dental Care, which suffered its first loss of the season. Tzvi Cohen led all scorers with 18 points for RiverKingSports.com and Ethan Jesselson added 8 points in the winning effort. For Advanced Dental Care, Diego Figueroa Hepner had 8 points and Ethan Havens chipped in with 2 points.

 

Riverdale Kiwanis - 30 (2-0)

Skyview Wines & Spirits - 27 (0-2)

 

Riverdale Kiwanis remains tied for first place in the pro division after beating Skyview Wines & Spirits by a score of 30-27. William Feldman led Kiwanis with 14 points and Jonathan Katzman added 6 points. Despite the loss, Zeke Blauner actually led all scorers with 16 points for the Wines & Spirits, while teammate Valerie Lavar contributed 6 points.



Super Pro Division

Skyview Wines & Spirits - 26 (2-0)

IDT Energy - 24 (0-1)


The Skyview Wines & Spirits took an early lead atop the super pro division standings with a 26-24 victory over IDT Energy. Josh Vaughan had 9 points for the Wines & Spirits, while Ethan Metzger added 3 points. For IDT Energy, which was playing its first game of the season after having a bye in week one, Daniel Jonas had 10 points and Ben Klein had 8 points in the close loss.


Hudson Parkway Pharmacy - 33 (1-1)

Skyview Supersonics - 32 (0-2)


Hudson Parkway Pharmacy defeated the Skyview Supersonics by a score of 33-32, in a contest between two teams looking for their first win of the season. Joshua Deutsch led Pharmacy with 12 points and Dani Davis had 9 points, including the go-ahead basket with just a few seconds left on the clock. For the Sonics, Aidan O'Brien had 15 points and Conor O'Brien added 9 points in the losing effort.

 

*Note: The Hertz Dental Stars (1-0) had a bye and will return to action next Sunday for week three of the super pro division schedule.
