Junior Division

Ginzburg Drillers - 10 (4-0)

January’s Jazz - 8 (1-3)

 

The Ginzburg Drillers narrowly kept their winning streak alive by beating the January's Jazz, 10-8. Nicholas Jimenez had 4 points for the Drillers, while Zehava Shapiro had 2 points for the Jazz.

 

Buchbinder & Warren Realty - 13 (3-1)

Brown’s Jewelers - 4 (0-4)

 

Buchbinder & Warren Realty picked up its third straight win, beating Brown’s Jewelers by a score of 13-4. Henry Mann led Realty with 4 points, while Jordan Storfer had 2 points in a losing effort for the Jewelers.

 

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry - 39 (3-1)

Jasper’s Pizza - 2 (1-3)

 

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry remains just one game behind the division leaders after crushing Jasper’s Pizza by a score of 39-2. Avi Tepler and Kira Tepler both recorded 8 points in the win for Dentistry. Anthony Alvarado-Cohen scored the only 2 points in the game for Jasper’s Pizza.

 

 

Varsity Division

RNL Vending - 29 (2-2)

Hertz Dental Starz - 27 (2-2)

 

RNL Vending recovered nicely from a lopsided loss last week to edge past the Hertz Dental Starz by a score of 29-27 and move in to a tie for third place. Zack Duitz led Vending with 8 points and teammate Sophia Reich followed closely behind with 6 points. For the Dental Starz, Christian Batista had a superb effort despite the loss and finished with a game-high 19 points.

 

Invitations Plus - 27 (3-1)

YBY Computers - 7 (1-4)

 

Invitations Plus maintained its grip on second place in the division with an impressive 27-7 victory over YBY Computers. Nachi Spierer had 8 points for Invitations Plus and outscored the opponents all on his own, while teammate Ethan Sidelsky contributed 6 points in the win. For YBY Computers, Caleb Marcus had 4 points in the loss.

 

Councilman Koppell - 31 (4-0)

Riverdale YM-YWHA - 21 (0-4)

 

Councilman Koppell’s team continues to beat each and every team in its path, this week defeating the Riverdale Y by a score of 31-21 to keep its perfect record intact. Akiva Hain led the way for Koppell with 22 points. Although his team came up short on the scoreboard, Jacob Fadda deserves special recognition after incredibly scoring all 21 points for the Riverdale Y in an admirable losing effort.

 

 

Pro Division

Taller Dental Magic - 28 (1-3)

Advanced Dental Care - 27 (1-3)

 

The Taller Dental Magic picked up their first win of the season, with a thrilling 28-27 nail-biter over Advanced Dental Care. Josh Lieman scored 14 points and was responsible for half of the Magic’s offensive output, while teammate Jonathan Kurlander chipped in with 9 clutch points. For Advanced Dental Care, Diego Figueroa Hepner led all scorers in the game with 15 points and Addison Bent added 6 points.

 

Skyview Wines & Spirits - 32 (2-2)

Riverdale YM-YWHA - 29 (1-3)

 

The Skyview Wines & Spirits moved in to third place by defeating the Riverdale Y, 32-29, in a hard-fought contest that came down to the final minute. Zeke Blauner had 12 points for the Wines & Spirits, while Shira Saar contributed 4 points in the victory. For the Riverdale Y, Akiva Hain had 12 points and Justin Ryan had 6 points.

 

RiverKingSports.com - 31 (4-0)

Riverdale Kiwanis - 19 (3-1)

 

With first place on the line, RiverKingSports.com knocked off Riverdale Kiwanis by a score of 31-19 to come out on top in a battle of the pro division’s last two undefeated squads. Tzvi Cohen led RiverKingSports.com with 14 points and teammate Noah Nordlicht had 10 points. For Kiwanis, Matthew Lazarus had 6 points in the loss.

 

 

Super Pro Division

IDT Energy - 50 (2-1)

Hudson Parkway Pharmacy - 43 (1-2)

 

IDT Energy moved in to a three-way tie for first place in the division after beating Hudson Parkway Pharmacy by the score of 50-43. Daniel Jonas had 14 points for Energy and teammate Ben Klein followed closely behind with 12 points. Despite being on the losing end, Dani Davis had the best individual performance of any player on the court, finishing with an impressive 30 points for Pharmacy to lead all scorers in the game.

 

Skyview Supersonics - 39 (1-3)

Hertz Dental Stars - 36 (2-1)

 

The Skyview Supersonics got their first win of the season by beating the previously-undefeated Hertz Dental Stars, 39-36. Aidan O'Brien and Conor O’Brien both reached double-digits for the Sonics, scoring 20 points and 12 points, respectively, in the win. For the Dental Stars, Avi Chefitz had 9 points and Josh Shaw had 7 points.

 

*Note: The Skyview Wines & Spirits (2-1) had a bye and will return to action next Sunday for week five of the super pro division schedule.
